Talk to Me

USA-Pittsburgh- CMU Ellis gallery- Collabration with Felipe Castelpbanco - JAN 2012

A project by Nima Dehghani, through the body of Felipe Castelblanco. January, 2013. CMU’s Ellis Gallery, Pittsburgh PA.

The exhibition "Talk to Me" made its debut at the Ellis Gallery, a student art space nestled within the Carnegie Mellon University campus. Originating in Tehran, Iran, the project was conceived by Nima Dehghani and presented for the first time in this unique setting.

As part of the exhibition, an additional performance was incorporated featuring Nima and Felipe Castelblanco. This performance took the form of an artist talk, providing an opportunity for Nima to directly interact and communicate with the audience through Felipe, who acted as a surrogate for the artist.

Both Nima and Felipe are exploring innovative methods to extend Nima's presence into the United States, leveraging internet-based technologies for data-streaming and telepresence. Despite Nima's enrollment at Carnegie Mellon University since 2012, complications arose with his student visa, stemming from bureaucratic processes involving the U.S. embassy in Dubai and the International Student office at CMU. Presently, Nima remains in Tehran, awaiting resolution to commence his studies.
